Explanation of Results
If a person's score falls in the green and yellow region, it indicates that they responded correctly to all of the quiz statements related to the Essential Doctrines (as indicated in the quiz by the "( )" symbol), and thus they hold beliefs that are reflections of those doctrines. Consequently, the person can probably accurately be considered Christian. To definitively be able to accurately be considered Christian, the person must be earnestly striving to live in accordance with those beliefs, and must not hold to any beliefs that are opposite to those beliefs. A score that falls within the green and yellow area and below the top of the graph indicates that while belief in all of the Essential Doctrines (i.e. represented aby the relevant quiz statements) are held, belief in all of the quiz represented Secondary and/or Miscellaneous doctrines are not held. The more Secondary Doctrines, and Miscellaneous Doctrines that are held as beliefs, the higher in the green and yellow region the person's score will appear. Note that the yellow to green gradient is for symbolic purposes only, and does not have a specific doctrine classification related meaning. The highest possible score is near the very top of the graph, and indicates that all Essential, and Secondary, and Miscellaneous doctrines represented in the quiz are held as beliefs by the quiz taker.
A person's score that falls within the red region indicates that their spiritual belief system is so different from the Christian belief system that they can not accurately be referred to as Christian. This is because according to the person's responses the person does not hold as a belief one or more of the Essential Doctrines. The more Essential, Secondary, and Miscellaneous Doctrines that are held as beliefs, the higher in the red region their score will appear. The gray horizontal gap in the red region is there just for the sake of space savings in the graph presentation; for the lowest possible scores, any score that is below a certain value is plotted in the center of the lower part of the red region regardless of its actual value.
Please note that quiz results are not meant to be unilateral judgments of any kind towards the quiz taker, or their set of beliefs. The purpose of the quiz is to make a reasonably accurate comparison of a person's current set of beliefs to those of Christianity in light of many of the important Christian doctrines as stated in the Bible.
Quiz takers are encouraged use the Bible references given in the Answer column for elaboration of the quiz answers. There are a number of Bible translations available today which have a good reputation among Bible scholars which can be used; three of which are the New King James Version (NKJV), the New International Version (NIV), and the American Standard Version (ASV). For more information about them please see the Recommended Resources page.
